A day late, unfortunately, our ACC position (QB, RB, WR, TE, K) rankings are up for week seven.
The quarterback position has been shaken up yet again after E.J. Manuel of Florida State and Mike Glennon of N.C. State went head to head last week in a major upset. Logan Thomas of Virginia Tech has also been a fantasy stat sheet stuffer, and while that doesn’t exactly matriculate to wins on the field, it’s still quite a sight to see. Overall this week, ACC quarterback play suffered, with the exception of one newcomer in a typically losing uniform.
At the running back position, Andre Ellington of Clemson, the ACC’s leading rusher, continues his steady play without being particularly flashy. Meanwhile in North Carolina, sophomore Giovani Bernard is taking the conference (and the NCAA) by storm with his recent performances on the field. Tevin Washington of Georgia Tech continues to be a QB/RB touchdown machine, and Chris Thompson of Florida State is still making defenders miss.
At the wide receiver position, it is DeAndre Hopkins of Clemson all day at this point, and while Stefon Diggs has emerged as one of the best freshman in the nation, there are plenty of ACC wide receivers who can challenge him. That list includes the veteran of the ACC Conner Vernon of Duke, whose steady play keeps pushing him up the list.
And at tight end, we see a lack of consistency at the position outside of Eric Ebron of North Carolina and Brandon Ford of Clemson. Other than those two, the top ten has been a revolving door all season. These rankings focus more on offensive production than blocking ability, but they are still taken into account.
And finally, we have the kickers. Overall this year, kicking has been fantastic in the ACC outside of, very unfortunately, Maryland kicker Brad Craddock. He isn’t the only culprit, but he is the most recent in memory.
Please, feel free to let us know your thoughts on players you think we’ve slighted in the least. We’d be happy to hear from them and take them into account as the season moves forward.
