Harrison Twins Recruiting Saga Drama Update -- 9/27

This entire Harrison twins recruitment feels like en episode of Maury.

Two people just waiting in anticipation to hear the words “You ARE/AREN’T the father!” The response of which will dictate a whole lot of their future. Those DNA results come out after a commercial break on the show, but this commitment from Andrew and Aaron Harrison feels like it is taking light years. I understand that this is a huge and important decision for both the kids and their family, but it doesn’t make it any less stressful for the people watching and the schools involved. Ultimately, this is a personal decision and no one should have the right to tell these kids to hurry up and decide, and I respect that.

But in the meantime, TerrapinStation will keep you as plugged in as possible on the situation.

Timeline to this point:

  • Over the weekend, Adam Zagoria of Zagsblog.com reports that there is a rift within the Harrison family as to where the two will commit. The father has a preference to Maryland, whereas the kids want to commit early to Kentucky. This comes after the twins nixed Baylor and all but got rid of SMU as potential destination points.
  • This morning, Scout.com’s Josh Gershon reports that Andrew and Aaron Harrison will be attending Kentucky’s Big Blue Madness. This is contrary to prior reports which stated that the twins would be attending Maryland’s Midnight Madness on the same date (October 12th).
  • Matt Jones of @KYSportsRadio links an article (via Twitter): HarrisonTwins‘ father blasts @adamzagoria (no word about his hair) and says report he wants twins at Maryland false: http://kentuckysportsradio.com/?p=118855“That’s just [the reporter of the story] doing his thing. I’d talked to him one time a few months ago and he reworded what I said and took it all out of context in his article, so I don’t talk to him anymore. Maybe that’s why he had to write something. He makes up things and runs with them for attention.”
  • Andrew Harrison also goes on Twitter to say [tweet https://twitter.com/DrewRoc5/status/250248190002077696] . This is the first indication from anyone other than the father that the Zagoria piece was incorrect, and is a very telling sign.
  • NEW – Bino Ranson and Mark Turgeon take a trip down to Houston, Texas on 9/26. Harrison Sr., has no comment, but Terps fans can take that however they want.

That’s basically where things stand at this point, but there is probably going to be more coming out soon. Stay tuned for more and follow us on Twitter @TerpStationMD for up-to-the-minute updates on the situation unfolding.
