Suitland, MD guard Roddy Peters has seen a major jump in his stock as a recruit in the last few months. The 6’4″ five star PG and top recruit from the state of Maryland according to 24/7 Sports is set to make an unofficial visit to College Park today.

Perhaps the most intriguing aspect of Peters recruitment for Terrapins fans is how he has openly stated how he’d love to play with the Harrison twins. The Houston, TX natives have strong relationships with head coach Mark Turgeon as well as incoming freshman Shaquille Cleare. The Terrapins are reportedly in the top three for the twins who are both consensus top 5 players in the 2013 class.

Being able to have a floor general the caliber of Peters who would not only be accepting of, but actually encouraged by, backcourt players rated higher than himself is quite telling of Peters character. Most players of his caliber are concerned with being “The Guy” at a particular program to help raise their draft stock to the greatest potential, Peters seems focused on being a winner.

While Peters has told 24/7 basketball recruiting analyst Jerry Meyer that a public commitment would not come on tomorrow’s visit, it is not out of the realm of possibility to suggest a silent commitment from Peters to the program he grew up a fan of. Peters is being recruited to Maryland by Dalonte Hill, one of the more notable college basketball recruiters in the country.

The Terps are widely considered the favorites to land the services of Roddy Peters. The sooner he makes a decision on where he wants to continue his basketball career the better for Maryland. Let’s hope Rowdy Roddy Peters wants to end this process sooner rather than later and join Turge’s surge on the ACC.
