Sam Cassell Jr. is now officially a Terrapin as he signed his letter of intent to play for Mark Turgeon. He is a highly skilled guard out of Baltimore that was being recruited by many top programs in the country.

Cassell is made a name for himself on the basketball court even though he had big shoes to fill with the name “Sam Cassell”. His father is the former NBA star that now is a coach for the Washington Wizards.

Cassell originally picked Maryland but backed out of his verbal because he felt he needed to visit a few more schools. He later decided that his original pick of the Terrapins was right.
