Alex Twine Named ACC Rookie of the Week

Maryland true freshman linebacker Alex Twine has been named the ACC’s Rookie of the Week after recording 12 tackles (three for a loss, a season-high for any Maryland player) with one sack against Notre Dame this Saturday. It was his third start of the season.

Twine is the first Maryland player to be named ACC Rookie of the Week this season, after Danny O’Brien was selected five times last season. He is the first Maryland linebacker to earn the award since Demetrius Hartsfield in 2009.
