Depth Chart Updates – Temple

Another week, another depth chart. Let’s run down the newest rendition of the Terps’ two-deep for next week’s game against Temple.

After the suspensions of Ronnie Tyler and Quintin McCree, the wide receiver corps looks slightly different. Kevin Dorsey still holds one of the two starting spots, but punt returner Tony Logan surprisingly grabs the other slot. Backing up Dorsey is true freshman Marcus Leak, and backing up Logan is Kerry Boykins. Boykins was the odds-on favorite to have the other starting spot, but apparently the coaches were happy with what they saw from Logan last week. As long as his routes are limited to streaks, screens, and crossing patterns, we’re fine with this.

On the defensive line, there are two changes. Redshirt freshman Andre Monroe has won the second starting defensive tackle position over A.J. Francis, joining Joe Vellano as starters on the interior line. It’s no surprise, as Monroe has been the star of the defensive line so far this year. Transfer Alvin Thomas is backing up David Mackall at defensive end, replacing Bradley Johnson. It’s a curious decision, and you have to wonder if Johnson is injured.

Everything else remains the same. We’ll have a preview of the game later this week.
