J.P. Tokoto, a four-star forward from Menomonee Falls, Wi. and one of Maryland’s top basketball targets in the 2012 class, made his college choice yesterday – he’ll be going to North Carolina. Dagger.
Tokoto is a four-star small forward from Wisconsin, and was reported to be interested in the Terps. He had his list narrowed down to UConn, Kansas, Kentucky, Marquette (keep in mind, he’s from Wisconsin), Maryland, North Carolina, UCLA, and Wisconsin – so to say we were in good company is a massive understatement.
Of course, it’s disappointing that we weren’t able to get this top-of-the-line, possibly one-and-done caliber kind of player, but that’s some serious competition to go up against. For the amount of times that has happened to the Terps, they’re bound to pull out one of them, right? We can hope.
Time to focus everything on Justin Anderson.
In other depressing recruiting news, apparently Myck Kabongo said he would 100% be a Terrapin if they had recruited him and that Maryland is his dream school. Kabongo, if you were wondering, is a five-star prospect from the basketball factory that is Findlay Prep in Nevada and is ranked the No. 2 point guard in the country by Scout. Not like we could use that kind of talent or anything.
