Alyssa Thomas Wins ACC Rookie of the Week

Maryland freshman forward Alyssa Thomas was named the ACC Rookie of the Week after an impressive showing in the Terrapins’ last few games.

Thomas averaged 14.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists over the week, helping the Terps claim the Eight Annual East Carolina Tournament title. She has started every game this season, and is leading the Terrapins with 12 points per game.

Thomas was a unanimous ESPN All-American as a high school in 2010 in addition to being named to Parade and USA Today’s 2010 All-American list. She was a part of last year’s Maryland recruiting class, ranked second in the nation.
