The first USA Today/ESPN Top 25 men’s basketball coaches’ poll of the season was released today, with Duke unsurprisingly on top and with Maryland getting two votes in the poll (ranking 49th, or tied for 46th, depending how you look at it). After the Blue Devils, Michigan State, Kansas State, Pittsburgh, and Ohio State round out the top five.

The Terps play Pitt on November 18 at Madison Square Garden. Two other possible MSG opponents, Illinois and Texas, are ranked 16th and 25th, respectively.

Other ACC schools in the poll include North Carolina (9th) and Virginia Tech (23rd). Nearby Georgetown is ranked 1st. Florida State received 31 votes and North Carolina State got 10.
