Justin Gilbert Out For the Year

Starting left tackle Justin Gilbert is out for the year with an ACL injury. Right tackle R.J. Dill will move over to the left side, while redshirt freshman Pete DeSouza will now take over as the starting right tackle. DeSouza struggled after being thrown in during the middle of the West Virginia game, and we’ll see if he can give a better performance against FIU. This is obviously a huge blow to the Terps (possibly a season-changing one), and hopefully Maryland can stay strong through this.

If you were too lazy to click on the first link, here’s a quote Jeff Barker had from coach Friedgen.

“Justin was really playing very well for us. We were very pleased with him. My major concern with losing an offensive linesman was being forced to play a redshirt freshman again.”
