Men's Soccer Preview - 09/18/2010

The Terps play their first home  ACC game of the year against the North Carolina State Wolfpack tomorrow, as they hope to continue a strong start.

Maryland, currently ranked 7th in the nation, have had a strong, balanced attack throughout their first four games, and have received two shutouts from All-American goalkeeper Zac MacMath.

The Wolfpack opened up their ACC slate against #3 North Carolina, losing 1-0. NC State also lost to #20 Louisville, 2-1 in overtime, but defeated Sacramento State and VMI. They have scored nine goals so far this season (compared to twelve for Maryland), and are lead by sophomore midfielder Michael Smith and senior defender Tyler Lassiter, who have two goals apiece. Goalie Will Mackvick has one shutout in his four games this season (his first as a full-time starter), and is allowing just under 1.5 goals per game.
