Maryland faces their toughest test of the season so far when they travel to Chestnut Hill, Mass. to face the #5 ranked Boston College Eagles for the first conference game of the year. The Eagles are 2-0 after defeating Hartford and Quinnipiac, and are coming off a strong 14-9 campaign last year, including 5-3 in conference. Boston College returns ten starters from last season, including top scorers Charlie Rugg (7 goals, 7 assists), Edvin Worley (5 goals, 5 assists), Kyle Bekker (4 goals, 5 assists), and Kevin Mejia (5 goals). Also returning is starting goalie Justin Luthy, who had nine shutouts last year.
The Terps are currently ranked 9th after a loss to Michigan State and a win over Northeastern to start the year. Matt Kassel and Casey Townsend both have two goals this season, and Zac MacMath notched a shutout against the Huskies in the second game.
