After a big win against Navy in the season opener, the Terps host the Morgan State Bears in the first home game of the year.
The Bears are really not that good. Last year, they went 6-5, including a 41-0 loss to the only FBS team they played (Akron). Out of 118 FCS teams, they were 84th in rushing, 107th in passing, 107th in total offense, and 100th in scoring offense. From that team last year, they lose leading rusher Devan James, quarterback Carlton Jackson, and, of course, Edwin Baptiste:
Starting running back Jourdan Brooks should be familiar to Terps fans, as he is a transfer from Rutgers who played against Maryland as recently as last year. In their opening game of the season, Morgan State squeaked by Division II squad Bowie State, 14-7. The Bears have an adequate defense, but their offense is simply too bad to really worry about.
